Mission Statement

The mission of Mary G. Fritz Elementary School is that in partnership with our families and community, we will lead ALL students to be life-long learners and motivate them to achieve their full potential within a caring and respectful environment.

History of Mary G. Fritz Elementary School

Built in 1969, Mary G. Fritz is a neighborhood school with approximately three hundred students in grades three through five. There are over fifty caring staff members who work together to create an energetic, academic learning environment.   The school’s learning approach addresses the four domains (cognitive, physical, personal/social, and creative expression) of child development appropriate to the age of its students by providing programs that celebrate diversity, promote a sense of belonging, foster positive relationships and set high expectations for all. In addition to being instructed in the core areas of reading, writing, mathematics, social studies, and science, students are also enriched in the areas of art, music, technology, physical education, and Spanish. There also are opportunities for enrichment in our STEP program or in band or orchestra. In addition, Mary G. Fritz students engage in cultural experiences and service projects led by our K-Kids that help promote tolerance, empathy, and to connect our school to the community at large.  Parental involvement is a key contributor to the success at Mary G. Fritz.  Our PTO, in collaboration with our sister school Highland Elementary School, is an active organization that funds Field Day, enrichment programs, and so much more. They are instrumental in creating a strong school-family bond and a sense of connectedness.

Our school works to educate the whole child, develop responsible, respectful, and productive citizens, and prepare our students for the future.
